I've had a 4355 for 4 years-and last week it was literally run over by a bus.I reviewed and tested many new PDA/Smartphone devices, but none of them were suited to my needs-easy typing, stable and usable word processing and spreadsheets, easy customization and reliability. Most of the new units sacrificed utility to include phones, games or text messaging-not what I needed.Fortunately, I was able to buy a brand new 4355 from an Amazon seller. After a week of using a borrowed late-model PDA, it was such a relief to get back to the best business tool I've used.
The downsides are not too much memory, and the bluetooth and WiFi need to be updated with drivers to read the new A2DP 2.0 and WPAPSK, respectively.Overall, I love my iPAQ. I've used my iPAQ every day since I've bought it.
Most times when people write reviews, it is because they are dissatisfied with a product. Pros: Keyboard entry is easy, screen is clear, sound is clear and overall easy to use.Cons: The device is somewhat large, some driver problems, but those can be updated easily.
There were some scratches on the screen and one small one on the back, but after being used for 4 years with no screen protector, I'm not surprised. However, I found this product very easy and simple to use.
I've had mine for about a year now, after I bought it "used" off of eBay. It is easy to connect to the internet, there are many different programs you can download, and it's an overall great product.
I will continue to use it until it dies.Nick
I had an HP IPAQ RZ1715 and I upgraded to the HP IPAQ 4355. The size of the pocket pc is relatively large (especially if you compare it with other pocket pcs) but again that is because of the addition of the keyboard. The keyboard is also a very welcome feature and it makes input much easier.
I had no trouble connecting to the wireless network of my university. will take longer than it does on a desktop or a laptop. The 4355 is a very good pocket pc.
However, constructing Word, Excel documents etc. The total memory is 64 MB which makes running multiple applications possible, something that was unthinkable with the 1715. Obviously there is a limit to the number of applications that you can install and run with the 64 MB or memory.
That is to be expected with a keyboard of this size. Overall, I am impressed with the 4355 and would recommend this device.
I've had this PDA for 6 months and it's been very useful in most cases. My one big complaint is that you cannot use a bluetooth cordless headset to listen to mp3 music/audio. This is something HP needs to upgrade. I would rather not have to switch to a corded headset just to listen to music.
Mine broke while I had the unit in my pocket. I have some recommendations about ways to take the best of it:1. I bought this unit one year ago, and I love it. Use an aluminium hard case and never take it out of it.2. Don't buy it before you buy a hard case. The screen is extremely fragile. Internet browsing sucks, I installed pcAnywhere software and I connect directly to my pc at home, I use the pocket pc as a remote screen of my home pc, so I have all the power of a desktop pc in this little unit.3. I recommend to install mobile skype out, you can use your unit as a mobile VOIP phone
